About Richard Y. Roberts
Rick Roberts is a Partner & Co-Founder of McKinnon Group, LLC, a Washington, D.C. based strategic consulting and lobbying firm. Prior to forming the McKinnon Group, Rick managed the Washington, D.C. based strategic consulting and lobbying firm of RR&G, LLC, for about two decades.
From 1990 to 1995, Rick served as a Commissioner of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Rick served as the Chief of Staff for Senator Richard Shelby from 1987-90; and prior to that, he served as the Chief of Staff for then Congressman Richard Shelby from 1979-82.
Rick, an Alabama native, is a graduate of Auburn University and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law and his Master of Laws from the George Washington University Law Center. He is a member of the Alabama Bar and of the District of Columbia Bar and is a member of the Council of the College of Engineering of Auburn University. He and his wife, Peggy, reside in Fairfax, VA.
